I like it! Good contrast between lighter text and links against a dark background, more interesting than the other way around. Plus, I think we have our letterhead in the event of a future Horrorclassics stationary!

Near transparent looks completely transparent to me in Firefox 3.5.10. Personally, I'm not too thrilled with it. Makes the text a bit hard to read. Maybe dial down the transparency?
