our furkids
I was excited to find this thread! These are the loves of my life. :D
Ruby & Morton...
Rebel - he's a Katrina hurricane survivor. We brought him up north to live with us.
And finally, our Newfoundland puppy, Miss Chumley. She was just 12 weeks when she came home.
(Half of my hubby there too)
She's just over 2 now and has grown quite a bit.
My Chums and her mum (taken from the Mac) Thanks for letting me share!
Nice pictures! I wondered if we'd get to see the "furbabies" at some point! Rebel looks very relaxed and comfy, no doubt very glad to be out of harm's way too! Goldens love the water, don't they! Miss Chumley, what a sweet face! Newfies have such a gentle personality too. A local nursery has two of them that greet the customers in the summer, they're the hit of the place. They'll lean up against you until you give them some attention and are as friendly as can be. At that size, they're impossible to ignore! Your "furkids" are all clearly well cared for and loved. Thanks for sharing them with us!
Thanks drmuga! They are truly my JOY!
Yes, that "Newf lean"! They make wonderful therapy dogs because of that deep pressure therapy. It is very comforting to the clients - autistic children, older folks really benefit from their docile sweet demeanor. The Goldens are much older - 10, 11 and 12 and Chumley is so young, she makes them a little crazy. ;) A 130+lb puppy can be difficult for their elderly selves to deal with. LOL. But their personalities are so very similar. Miss Chums is just much more protective of her pack and her home and won't let anyone near the property. But she is such a big teddy bear inside our home! OK, I need to stop now because I think I am beginning to *gush* over them.. thanks again for your kind words!
What a lovely bunch, they must be a handful, hate to be the one buying all their food though.Cuties.
I'm with you--I was glad to find a thread where I could show off my babies too! Yours are adorable--wish I had the space to give dogs a proper home. My cats love my new loft bed though.
Tell Rebel he has a hometown connection through this forum. My Stanley, the orange tabby, is a Katrina survivor too. I volunteered at a makeshift shelter over Thanksgiving week that year. I knew I was going to take one home so I took a carrier with me!
Hope Rebel is recovered from any post-traumatic stress--Stanley gets more and more relaxed every year.
Thank you squelch and twocansmom! :) We go thru about 120 lbs of kibble a month for our guys. They're easy to please. LOL
So nice to hear about Stanley.. That's awesome that you volunteered during that crisis! I will let Rebel know he's got a southern pal who made it out alright too. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to leave any of our furbabies behind, I don't know how I'd cope with that.
Rebel is still very wary of rain. He's usually super mellow, but he still needs a bit of coaxing even if it's sprinkling out. Just the change in the air when it's about to rain is enough to make him not want to go outside. He'll just stand by the door and look over his shoulder at us. :( I've taken him out to play in the rain and it seems to have helped a bit.
they are so lovely babyphat! the goldies and that newfie is going to get big!
Thanks so much ratibor.. we hope she doesn't get much bigger! :D lol
