Stagevu Just Removed A Massive Amount Of Videos.
Quite a few videos have been removed from Stagevu, some of which,we are sure we have links to.So you may find some posts now without links, please report any dead links please.
Here is the message Stagevu staff have come up with to explain the reasons for deletions.
From Stagevu:
Hey everyone,
We're writing today to inform you that we have removed a large quantity of videos from Stagevu during the course of the day. The vast majority of these were removed because they were violating our terms of use - in particular, our terms forbidding the uploading of copyrighted content.
Stagevu was created to give users a way to share high-quality, high-definition videos. We hoped that by making a place where such videos could be uploaded and viewed in their full visual glory without stuttering playback, we would encourage more content creators to care about video quality. After all, their work would no longer be reduced to a blocky mush once it's uploaded.
Uploading copyrighted content without permission simply goes against this goal. It hurts content creators. It is also illegal. We here at Stagevu respect the work, time, and effort that goes into filming, producing, and editing videos. As a result, we will actively remove copyrighted content as it is identified, just as we have done before.
I had a look there last night and all the videos in the 'Films' category were just five minutes or so in length. Even searching by date added and last page first (to display the oldest uploaded files) the films were still only 5 or so minutes in length.
But, going to my 'Favourites' page, I could still still all the films I had added there, and they were not truncated in running time at all.
So, in short, I don't understand what's going on with the place. Would it be OK to upload an old film there, I wonder, or will it get shortened to five minutes or so?
Hello, tod,i have a few films on there, luckily only a few of ours were removed.I am taking a chance and upping on there at the moment. But others seem to be going over to cinshare and veehd. But it is up to you to decide.
The search is all to pot,but that is for a reason now, according to the admins at stagevu,if things are not easily searchable they cannot be found(by the big-wigs),even though they are still there. We will just have to do a bit more digging now to find any new posts.
